Ganesh joined the Walsh Lab after completing residency training in pediatric neurology under Professor Verne S. Caviness, Jr. at Massachusetts General Hospital.  As a member of the human genetics research group led by Professor Walsh, he has traveled extensively in the Middle East to help establish collaborations with physicians and researchers in the region. Ganesh is a native of Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from Keio University School of Medicine and trained in general pediatrics at Keio University Hospital under Professors Nobutake Matsuo and Takao Takahashi before moving to Boston.

Ganesh now leads his own research team at Boston Children's Hospital studying the genetics and neurobiology of microcephaly, pontocerebellar hypoplasia, and other conditions involving cerebral cortical development and intellectual disability.
