Richard Smith, PhD

Richard joined the lab in 2015 after finishing a cotutelle PhD at the University of Maryland and Université Pierre et Marie Curie. His primary doctoral work, in the laboratory of Dr. Ricardo Araneda, focused on mechanisms by which state-dependent neuromodulation occur in the mouse olfactory circuit. His main research interests are in developing IPS models for studying autism spectrum disorders and genetic mutations underlying congenital human diseases that disrupt neurodevelopment.
